Hannah has been dying to go outside to do bubbles since February, but we didn't have any and I didn't make it a priority to get some. But last week I texted Chris at the end of the day and asked him to swing by the Pound Store on the way home and it was basically Hannah's dream come true. Jayce initially wasn't interested but quickly changed his mind and decided to join in too.
We all ran downstairs still in our pajamas and I grabbed my camera. I'm so glad that I did. The enthusiasm and delight that they had was off the charts and I couldn't stop grinning with them like pack of (happy) idiots. I'll admit that I get a lot of joy out of my kids being so excited over bubbles - even basic bubbles that they have to blow themselves. No battery powered machine to crank them out by the hundreds, no enormously sized ones, no colored ones, just satisfying little bunches that need to be chased, caught, or popped.
Aside from the bubble fun I just adore these pictures. I sometimes like taking pictures of random things much more than events. I have edited several rounds of photos of the kids playing in the living room these past few months but still not touched the ones from Christmas morning. I don't know what it is, they just seem so real. I'm not shunning the Christmas ones, and they are just as "real." But these ones just seem a little magical and I can't put my finger on exactly why.
But I love them. Pictures of my two little monkeys in all of their glory.
Beautiful and fun pics. My kids can't get enough of making bubbles, too. It truely is magical!
